Community Services of Stark County, Inc., has located the Rape Crisis and Sexual Assault Services in its Alliance site at 960 West State Street, Suite 110. These programs are funded by the Alliance Area United Way. Their purposes are to provide information, counseling services and support to victims of sexual assault. To facilitate access to assistance, a Hot Line (330-821-7273) has been established where victims and/or their families may initiate immediate contact.

Rape, it is reported, occurs every six minutes in the United States and yet it is only one type of sexual assault. Other incidents include attempted rape, date rape, child molestation, incest, and sexual harassment. Sexual assault is, in fact, any unwanted sexual contact in which force, threats, bribes, manipulation, pressure, tricks, or violence is used by any person aiming to take control over another's person. It could be a stranger, an acquaintance, a friend, or even a family member. It can happen to anyone, either male or female.

It is important for you to know that if you are victimized
"IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT".

Professional counselors can help you to deal with the trauma of sexual assault and to aid in the healing process.
